We think Sara Wajid and Zak Mensah are the first CEOs to job share in a large UK museum. Together with feminist sociologist Dr. Nirmal Puwar, they explore the implications for feminist leadership in this model.

Nirmal and Sara

Dr Nirmal Puwar is a Reader at Goldsmith’s College. She wrote the book Space Invaders: race, gender and bodies out of place and leads a research project on gender and race in museum leadership.

Zak Mensah is co-CEO of Birmingham Museums Trust alongside Sara Wajid. Before that he was Head of Transformation at Bristol City Council’s Museum service. Zak is an honorary fellow of the University of Leicester and trustee for Culture24 and Association for Cultural Enterprises.
